Finally got to collect Lyra's CCs and a new ribbon from the MKA office today, woohoo! So I decided to get some pictures of Lyra posing with her wins:
The red ribbons with the 1 written on them are her wins for breed class (i.e. Best Junior in breed and Best Puppy in Breed. She beat Dexter for best junior at the toy club shows), the two plaques are her RBOB wins from the toy club shows, the medal is from getting BOB at the MKA ABC show, the two blue badges are her CCs from the toy club shows, the green ribbon is her CC from the MKA ABC show, and of course.. the huge yellow ribbon is for her Best Puppy in Group win.
I also managed to get some nice photos of Lyra's dad, Elton, who incidentally gained his grand champion title last weekend.
In other news, Lyra turned 11 months on the 28th!! Oh god, I can't believe how big she's gotten. I weighed the dogs at the vet's the other day and Lyra now weighs a whopping 12.3lbs and Cadence lost some weight and is now 11.5lbs (he is on a diet!). When I first brought Lyra home, she only weighed about 8lbs and was quite a bit smaller and lighter than Cadence! Now she's bigger (not taller, just longer) than Cadence and can easily push him over when she wants to, lol.
Isn't she just the sweetest?
In yet other news, I am going to start bringing Cadence for agility classes because I think he would be awesome at them, and because I think he's been feeling kind of left out lately. He would have so much fun doing jumps and weaves and stuff, I can tell already. Saw the agility run in the ring last weekend and it seemed simple! Much simpler than the runs I was watching at Crufts the other day. I really think Cadence could do very well.
And after all, Papillons are FAMOUS for being amazing at agility. It's their fine bones and tiny turns that make them really good at it. I mean, I've seen how Cadence and Lyra run around... and Cadence is MUCH more agile than Lyra is. He's also more sure-footed and less prone to running into things... come to think about it, he's never actually run into anything before! He's really good at ducking and turning and avoiding obstacles.
So, you know... let's put Cadence to the test! I mean, just check out these pictures of Paps doing agility... so awesome!
And.. look at Cadence go!! (He's just running here, but you can see how agile he looks) These were taken in Summer 2010 back in Vancouver. The dogs were having zoomies because they'd just taken a swim in the lake, lol.
