After having used Chris Christensen for a couple of months... here is my final review:
It's ok, but definitely not worth the price. Honestly, the conditioner is SO dilute--it's awful. I end up having to use so much each time I bathe the dogs just because it's so watery! Annoying because Chris Christensen (CC) is so much more expensive than Earthbath, which I was using before and was tons better. Earthbath's conditioner is my favourite so far (it's better than Biogroom and CC by far). And the CC shampoo? Man, the smell doesn't last even a single day. So useless. It's also pretty dilute and doesn't foam very well so I end up using a lot too. After these bottles are done I'm switching.
Have been hearing lots of good things about Isle of Dogs, so that's what I'm gonna try out next. I'm currently using the Isle of Dogs lush coating spray for Lyra and it smells awesome. Love it! Works pretty well, too. I'm gonna start off with their Lush Coating shampoo and the matching conditioner. It smells the same as the spray that I have so that's a plus point. Heard lots of great things about their EPO shampoo/conditioner line but it's just way way too overpriced for my pockets.
Honestly, one of the best shampoos that I've tried is Yu shampoo which is made in Taiwan. It smells SO AMAZING, and lasts for a long time too. The shampoo is extremely thick--I could use it really easily even diulted 5:1. The only downside is that Yu doesn't make any conditioners, so you'd have to go with a different brand for conditioners. I'm thinking... if Isle of Dogs turns out to be crappy as well, I'm just gonna go with Yu shampoo and pair it with Earthbath conditioner.
I think you may be thinking now that I sound crazy because I seem so obsessed about shampoos, but the only reason is because I am such a germaphobe. I absolutely cannot stand dogs having that "doggie smell" and I can't stand dirt being tracked into my house. The dogs get their feet cleaned either with baby wipes or a damp cloth after every time they get let out into the yard to play or potty. After walks, they usually get their feet/butt/pee areas rinsed with water. Good thing about Malaysia is that it's always so hot so I just use the garden hose and spray them down with water, LOL. They like it too, because they're always so hot after their walks that being hosed down with water is GOOD!
Anyway, because I'm a germaphobe, the dogs get bathed once a week without fail. Saturday is Lyra's bath day and Sunday is Cadence's. They get a good scrubbing (especially Lyra's feathering on her tail and feet) and get their ears cleaned with ear cleaner (Biogroom Ear Cleaner). Lyra especially needs to have the ear cleaner every single week, if not her ears start to smell. Must be the floppy ears. Cadence rarely needs his ears cleaned... because he has erect ears and NO ear fringes! Hahaha, woohoo finally found one good point about his lack of fringing.
I guess I'll write another review once I'm done with CC and get a chance to use Isle of Dogs.
