I am updating here, just 6 hours before I leave for Singapore. Will be taking Jetstar, which leaves from KLIA instead of LCCT (15 mins nearer! And not like a MARKET), which is awesome. Am going to visit my cousins, and for the dog shows there tomorrow! There will be 3 shows, the 24th & 25th AKU ABC shows, and the 192nd SKC ABC show. Am going to be hanging out with my friend, Gaynor, whom I've never actually MET, but have spoken to a whole lot. A couple of her friends have also flown in from Australia to watch the show as well. Am very excited to meet Gaynor's dogs, Emmaline (Afghan Hound), and Dazzle! Dazzle is Ch. Caratoots Classic Collection, who was imported from Kaj Ganger in Sweden (Kennel Caratoots). There will apparently be a Cavalier at the show as well, so, very excited to see him/her. There haven't been any Cavaliers shown in Singapore since Gaynor's friend stopped showing her Cavashon dog.. or was it dogs? I can't remember.
Anyway, should be fun. There will be at least a few Papillons there as well. It'll be pretty much the first show in which I won't be showing anything, so yay!! I can go around taking pictures instead. Will finally get to put my 85mm f/1.8 lens to the test. Hope it does well.
In other news, Lyra's fur has finally come back!! It's been taking its own sweet time growing... I reckon by next month, it'll be back to the length that it was early this year. Fingers crossed! She will need her fur at our next shows. We are having LOTS of foreign entries as it seems many people want to get their dogs qualified for Crufts. We've got people coming from Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, etc. Probably Korea as well because we had Koreans here in our March shows. The March and September shows in Malaysia are the biggest of the year. There will usually be 4 to 6 shows on a single weekend, and this is when we have many competitors from other countries come and compete.
I'm not too worried, don't have too high hopes on Lyra, but another CC or two would be nice! We're just gonna go and have fun, as usual. Hoping to see some rarer breeds too!
Anyway, since no blog post is really complete without pictures, I'll leave you with one of the dogs a couple of days ago, in my car. I went to McDonald's drive through to get dinner, and brought the dogs along.. they love car rides, and the McDonald's staff are always amused at my dogs hanging out in my car.
