It has just been announced that there will be 6 shows in September! 3 FCI shows (one of which will be a Crufts qualification show), 1 AKU show, and 2 All-Breed shows. Here's a poster of it:
Guess we'll have loads of foreign entries again since it's gonna be a big show. To clarify, though.. no CACs will be awarded, just CCs. People seem to always be confusing CACs and CCs. They are completely different. CCs (challenge certificates) are used in the British system (as well as the Australian, NZ, and many others). Only two CCs are given for each breed--one for the best dog, and another for the best bitch. Reserve CCs are then awarded to the second best dog and bitch. CACs are used in Europe, and are given to dogs who win their class in the breed. So, depending on how many classes there are, as many CACs can be given as there are classes.
Not too confusing, right? I remember writing a post explaining this before, but here's a recap anyway... In Malaysia, all dogs need 3CCs (just like in the UK) to complete their Championship. There is NO champion class, so champions still earn CCs just like all the non-titled dogs. Therefore, all dogs compete with each other regardless of whether or not they're champions.
Lyra and Lennon made an appearance at our last shows, and Lennon earned BOBs and CCs from both shows, while Lyra earned 2 CCs, 1 BOB, and 1 Reserve BOB. Judges were Donald Emslie and Tim Doxtater from Surrey, BC! Was so tempted to speak to them about Vancouver. I do miss it so much. Hopefully, I'll be able to go back someday.
Here are some photos taken at the show:
There won't be anymore shows until the end of August, which is SUCH A BUMMER! This was only the second show weekend that I've attended this year, and was really looking forward to shows in June and July... sigh. I need to move to a bigger country where more people are interested in showing dogs!
This is where I update news on shows that any of my dogs are entered in, or shows at which I'm just a spectator.
