It was definitely a cause for celebration since it took me so long just to figure out how to get her to stop jumping and barking in the ring and start acting like a real show dog! It took me so long, that by the time I did, it was already the very last show of the weekend. LOL. Not a moment too late, though... since it was in that show that she won her CC!
Secondly, my handsome boy Monroe (Bonitos Companeros Rednex of Lucidity's) broke records by winning 5 BOBs from ALL 5 shows that he was entered in... at only 10 months old!! WOOHOO!! So freaking proud of my baby boy. He was the youngest Cavalier in the ring, and one of the youngest amongst the junior dogs... but still managed to win BEST JUNIOR IN GROUP under judge Hiromi Takahashi from Japan! Big rosette for my big boy :D
The best part of it all was tonnes of random people who came up to me to compliment Monroe. Many of them were of the opinion that he is the best Cavalier that they've seen in Malaysia. And that is a HUGE deal since Cavaliers have been shown in Malaysia for decades! So damn proud of Monroe. He is really an unbeatable package -- a combination of GREAT breed type, lovely head and expression, and most importantly: dead sound movement.
None of this would have been possible if his breeders, Markus and Klaus didn't take a leap of faith on a relative newcomer! Am so excited about Monroe... I think there are gonna be lots more exciting stuff in store for us! We might make an appearance in Thailand later this year... stay tuned.
