The show schedule for September is out, and it's gonna be huge! We have 2 FCI shows (one of which will be a Crufts qualification show! Not like I'm going... but still), 1 AKU show, and 1 MKA ABC show.
This show below is the one which will be the Crufts qualification show. It'll be judged by Paul Stanton of Sweden (I think the MKA misprinted the country he's from on their website):
And, here's the poster that's been circulated, with all the information:
I am super meticulous in that every single time the name of a judge is announced, I will look them up and find out as much as I can about them. It's actually a very eye-opening process. In the past, I've managed to find one-on-one interviews, resumes, and judging critiques. I saw the name "Andrew Brace" and immediately it sounded familiar. Then, I realized that it's because he's famous!! And also, I've read his critiques before, on the Cavalier Club UK website. He's judged Cavaliers several times and the critiques have been published on the site. Very nice to know that we have a judge who is extremely familiar with Cavaliers.
Reading critiques is one of my favourite past times, because it's so educational. I've learned so much from reading judges' critiques of dogs (especially famous ones, simply because there are a zillion pictures and videos of them, so you can go look at the pics/videos and scrutinize the dog to see what the judge meant).
Anyway, hoping that the other judges will like Lyra, too. Oh, and also.. she will finally be old enough to be awarded CACIBs!! I don't think she will be getting any, since I have a feeling that the judging will be extra stringent since it'll be a Crufts qualification show, but that's okay.
I MIGHT also be handling another dog, but that's still up in the air, so when it's confirmed, I'll let you guys know!
This is where I update news on shows that any of my dogs are entered in, or shows at which I'm just a spectator.
