Lyra (Int. Ch., Mys. Grand Ch., FCI-APAC Ch. Riccaval Zeal Me A Kiss) is my first show dog--she was born on April 28th, 2011 and is a Malaysian bred Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She was named after the heroine of Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" series, Lyra Belacqua. Lyra is also the constellation in which the star Vega is located--it is one of the brightest stars in the night sky, an apt name for her, as she has always been such a little star!

Lyra is the very FIRST bitch and locally bred Cavalier to earn the titles of International Champion, FCI APAC Champion and Grand Champion in Malaysia. She was also in the top 10 in the Toy Group and the top Cavalier in the country two years running, 2012 and 2013. Lyra is my constant companion, my little shadow, and the love of my life.

Lyra is on the small end of the Cavalier breed standard, at 11 inches tall and weighing 12.8lbs (5.8kg).
