Monroe (Int. Ch, Mys. Gr. Ch., Asia Pacific Ch, Thai Ch & Can. Ch Bonitos Companeros Rednex of Lucidity's) was born on 21st April 2014; bred by Markus Kirschbaum and Klaus Vorderstrasse of Bonitos Companeros, the breeders of UK Ch Bonitos Companeros X-Treme, who was the first foreign-bred and owned Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to be crowned UK Champion; as well as UK Ch Bonitos Companeros Imperator. Markus and Klaus are also the breeders of Multi Ch Bonitos Companeros Halli Galli, who won Best of Breed at Westminster in the US in 2013.

Monroe's pedigree consists of some of the true "greats" in Cavalier history, including UK Ch Maibee Make Believe, UK Ch Aranel Cosmic, UK Ch Pascavale Enchanted, UK Ch Miletree Nijinsky, UK Ch & CKCSC, USA Ch Lanola Santana of Maibee, UK Ch Craigowl Billy Elliot and top stud dog, Maibee Montrose. In addition, his ancestors are from some of UK's top breeders such as Aranel, Pascavale, Maibee and Craigowl, whom have consistently produced typey, sound dogs. Monroe's sire, Ch Bonitos Companeros Unbelievable has also been producing some of the top winning dogs in the US in recent years.

Monroe is named after my favourite character in the "Grimm" TV series, which was one of my favourite TV shows. In 2015, Monroe finished the year at the no.6 spot of the Toy Group and no.1 Cavalier in Malaysia. In 2016, Monroe repeated his feat and finished no.9 in the Toy Group and was once again the no.1 Cavalier in Malaysia. After arriving in Canada, Monroe finished his championship in 2 months, finishing with a 5-point major Best of Breed win over multiple specials.
